National Service, Regional Focus

Over the last 30 years, Senior has supplied aluminium fenestration solutions for contracts up and down the UK and across the sectors. In our latest blog, we take a look at some of our favourite local landmarks and explain more about the support our regionally based team of technical sales managers and architectural advisors can offer.

HELP WHEN AND WHERE YOU NEED IT

Whether you are specifying our products or installing them, we are committed to working with our customers to provide technical support from start to finish. We do this via our regionally based sales teams who are located close to our key clients and know the areas in which they work. This local knowledge can prove invaluable and means that we can meet you at your place of work or on site. Supported by our own strategically located distribution facilities in Scotland and Wales and our main manufacturing centre in Yorkshire, we can get the products you need, when you need them. To better serve the individual needs of our client base, our team of technical sales managers are based across the country to provide help and support to our fabricators. Specifiers can receive more specialist advice from our regional architectural advisors. Both teams are never far away from where you are working and only ever a phone call or email away.

Over the years, our teams have worked hard to deliver striking fenestration packages to projects across the UK. Here are just a few we made earlier…

YORKSHIRE & NORTH EAST

As our home county, we are proud to have worked on a number of projects in Yorkshire, from education projects to housing, healthcare and retail developments. We’re especially thrilled to have had a role in so many projects in the city of Doncaster, just a stone’s throw from where our main manufacturing facility is based. Not only will you see our high-performance aluminium fenestration solutions at the landmark Hilton Hotel at Doncaster’s famous racecourse, but our slimline SF52 aluminium curtain wall system also frames the iconic frontage of the striking Danum Gallery, Library & Museum.

From the historic Northumberland streets to the busy cities of Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham, our work across the North East has been as varied as the region’s landscape. We’ve provided aluminium fenestration systems for large retail developments in both Alnwick and Darlington and are proud to have been involved in some of the North East’s most innovative developments including the striking Smokehouses development in North Shields and the innovative Hope Street Xchange commercial development in Sunderland.

NORTH WEST

Regeneration across the North West has provided a boost in the region’s housing market and we are proud to have been involved in several residential schemes for developer Manchester Life. Many of these projects have been centred around Ancoates in the New Islington Marina area of Manchester and include the new housing schemes of Cotton Field Wharf , Weavers Quay, New Little Mill and most recently Lampwick Quay.

MIDLANDS

With a strong network of regionally based fabricators and installers, our varied work across the Midlands has seen us involved in everything from stunning commercial developments such as New Walk in Leicester, to numerous student accommodation and retirement housing schemes. Not to mention various projects for the University of Leicester including the redevelopment of the impressive Percy Gee Building and most recently, Coventry rail station.

SCOTLAND

Just across the border, we have dedicated services in place for our customers in Scotland, from a regionally bases sales and specification team to our strategically located distribution centre in Livingston. Over the past 30 years, we have developed strong links with contractors and architects working across Scotland and are proud to have played a part on many prestigious schemes such as Glasgow’s iconic Clydeside Distillery, Edinburgh’s historic Waverley Arches development and multiple contracts for the University of Stirling. More recently we have been involved in a number of student accommodation schemes, as well as delivering work across the education and retail sector – watch this space for further updates on our work in Scotland coming soon!

WALES & SOUTH WEST ENGLAND

Both Wales and the South West of England are covered by the same technical sales and specification support team and together they have been involved in the delivery of many high-profile schemes. Our dedicated distribution centre in Newport also helps us serve our customers across Wales and the surrounding areas.

In Wales, we have delivered numerous education contracts but we also have enjoyed repeat business by working of multiple phases of Cardiff’s landmark Capital Quarter commercial office development scheme. We have played an active role in the sports and leisure sector, including working on Cardiff’s Eastern Leisure Centre, and the creation of the popular Adrenaline Indoors centre at Snowdonia’s Adventure Park. We also provided products for the refurbishment of the Loreto spiritual retreat centre in Llandudno, where our SF52 aluminium curtain wall system was used to create a striking stained-glass effect!

In the South West, our aluminium fenestration systems have helped shape projects across the sectors, from the stunning harbourside residential scheme Wapping Wharf in Bristol to the art deco style of Berry Court in Bournemouth, and in the leisure sector, David Lloyd’s flagship Bristol centre, which is the chain’s 100th site in the UK.

SOUTH EAST & LONDON

We are a proud Yorkshire company but also the largest privately owned aluminium fenestration company in the UK so geographical distance is no problem for us. In fact, we now have a large portfolio of completed projects across the South East and especially in London, where our work in the high-rise residential sector has seen us take on bigger and higher value contracts including Oaklands Rise, a large mixed use regeneration scheme in London and our largest order to date. We’re also proud to have recently completed work at Kidbrooke Village in Greenwich – and to have a number of our aluminium fenestration systems installed pitch side at Brentford Stadium.

Outside of the capital, our varied work across the South East includes supplying the fenestration package for Slough Ice Arena, the sports hall development at Solent University Sports Complex, and numerous education contracts, many of which have been completed as part of a long standing framework agreement with main contractor Bowmer & Kirkland.
