Capital Quarter

Capital Quarter is a new large (over 1,025,000 sq.ft.) mixed use development in the heart of Cardiff featuring grade A office space, student accommodation and hotels.

The aim for property developer and main contractor JR Smart was to deliver Grade A office buildings with a BREEAM “Excellent” Rating and EPC ‘A’ Rated to provide the best possible working environment.

To achieve this Capital Quarter was built to the highest environmental and technical specifications.

So, it is no surprise that Senior’s thermally efficient SF52 curtain walling was chosen for the sleek and striking façades of the two recently completed seven-storey office buildings known as Capital Quarter No. 3 and No. 4.

The stylish envelope design was the creation of Morgan2Morgan Architects and Senior’s SF52 curtain walling with slim sightlines and excellent thermal performance was perfect for the extensively-glazed buildings. The result is bright and modern interiors and comfortable work spaces.

Senior worked in collaboration with supply chain partner Denval to deliver the curtain wall package for JR Smart.

The 10-acre site is now the centre of Cardiff’s enterprise zone and the new office buildings are already bringing investment and new jobs to Wales’ capital city. Finance Wales, Network Rail, Public Health Wales, Opus Energy, Alert Logic and Which? are just some of the organisations already enjoying the new offices and the view through Senior’s SF52 curtain walling at Capital Quarter.
