Williamson Heights is a residential shared ownership scheme developed by Peabody in line with their ethos of designing homes that offer a sense of cohesion and wellbeing among residents, whilst establishing new communities that will stand the test of time.
Outdoor space was a key consideration in the design by Delta architects, which features two buildings linked by a podium garden, with a balcony for each of the 198 apartments accessed via Senior’s SPW600 aluminium doors. Residents can also enjoy panoramic views of the iconic arch and central London from the landscaped roof gardens or relax on a selection of communal terraces.
Daylighting and a comfortable environment are also important for wellbeing and were incorporated via the extensive use of glazing. A comprehensive £2 Million package consisting of a mix of Senior’s thermally efficient aluminium windows, doors and curtain wall system were installed. This included thermally-broken SPW600 aluminium windows and doors plus SF52 aluminium curtain wall screens. For additional peace of mind, Senior’s safe and secure SPW501 aluminium commercial doors were added to the main and communal entrances.
Located within walking distance of Wembley Stadium Station and Wembley Park the scheme has a number of communal facilities including a cinema room, fitness suite, a residents’ only lounge with co-working spaces to encourage community development. Two commercial units on the ground floor and lower-level parking completes the development.
With the Covid-19 pandemic still raging worldwide, the Williamson Heights development provides a blueprint for residential design to help maintain mental health and wellbeing even during lockdown.
