UTC South Durham

Located on Aycliffe Business Park, the new University Technical College in South Durham has been designed by Ryder Architecture to more resemble a modern business premise than a school and to inspire a new generation to explore career opportunities in the engineering and manufacturing industries.

Delivered by main contractor Willmott Dixon, a key feature of the new purpose built three-storey building is a triple-height engineering hall that is spacious enough to accommodate various machinery and equipment.

Here specialist contractor Chemplas has installed the SF52 aluminium curtain walling to create a bright and welcoming entrance, with Senior’s SPW600e aluminium windows flooding the interior of the three-storey building with natural light.
