Hallam Towers, Sheffield

Located in the heart of Sheffield, Hallam Towers is a landmark residential development that combines contemporary design with a rich architectural legacy. The 15-storey tower has been built on the site of the former Hallam Tower Hotel, which first opened in 1965 and was a prominent feature of the city until its closure and demolition in 2017. The new development has sympathetically reimagined the original structure, retaining its iconic silhouette while creating a modern residential setting.

Designed by Axis Architecture and delivered by Domis Construction for Blenheim Land & Properties Ltd, the Hallam Towers scheme comprises over 100 luxury apartments, including spacious two- and three-bedroom residences and penthouses. The building also features additional amenities such as a residents' gym, swimming pool, concierge service, and landscaped communal areas, all set above an undercroft car park. The elevated position of the tower offers panoramic views across Sheffield, which have been framed by a range of our aluminium fenestration solutions.

Installed by LDG Contracts, our low U-value patented PURe^® aluminium windows were installed throughout the residential units, providing exceptional thermal performance with a sleek, modern finish. The PURe^® system's innovative polyurethane thermal barrier not only helps reduce energy consumption but also contributes to improve acoustic insulation, contributing to the overall comfort of the building's residents.

To complement the window systems, our SF52 aluminium curtain walling was used on the lower floors of the tower. The SF52 system offers outstanding structural integrity and design flexibility, allowing for large glazed areas that maximise natural light in communal spaces. The combination of PURe^® windows and SF52 curtain walling has helped create a visually striking façade that balances form and function, while meeting the stringent performance requirements of the project.
