YORbuild puts Senior’s in the frame
Yorkshire’s largest construction networking event has just taken place, with buyers from all the major contractors assembling in one space – and it all happened at Senior Architectural Systems’ main offices in Denaby, near Doncaster.
Hosted by Senior’s, the event was organised by YORbuild, the recognised collaborative procurement framework for construction in local authorities in Yorkshire and Humberside. Construction is the largest category of spend in the region – around £1.2 billion is allocated to construction services, representing 30% of local authority budgets.
Over the course of the YORbuild day at Senior’s, suppliers were presented with the opportunity to introduce themselves to buyers, learn how SME businesses can really make a difference, join SCEP – the supply chain engagement programme – and gain more knowledge about how to win more work. The day commenced with a main contractors framework meeting, followed by a tour of Senior’s extensive design and production facilities.
“The Senior’s team put a great deal of hard work in to ensuring the event was a success, and it really paid off,” said Bernard Harrison, who is Senior Architectural Systems’ national sales manager. “We had upwards of 400 delegates attending, some of whom exhibited and discussed with other guests how they could share in the region’s success by helping build its future.”
Typical of the comments received after the day, Interserve’s Construction manager Roger Spark said, “It’s been a very busy day and my colleagues and I had tired legs and voices, but Senior’s proved themselves to be excellent hosts and the facilities were really good. All in all, it was a great event that was well managed by YORbuild and Senior’s.”
Amongst those attending and exhibiting were senior buyers from BAM, Henry Boot, Kier Northern, Wates, Mansell Build and Willmott Dixon.
