Glazing systems designer and manufacturer Senior Architectural Systems has launched its second RIBA-approved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar, named Detailing and Delivering Fenestration Solutions.

The new seminar helps architects and specifiers identify and overcome detailing and interface issues when specifying windows, doors and curtain walling systems.

Senior’s CPD considers best practice for overcoming challenges such as acoustic improvement, compliance with the latest building regulations and designing sustainable BREEAM rated buildings.

The cost benefits of designing out problems from the outset will be discussed, and the benefits of using a structural engineer to calculate wind loads and barrier loads will be explained. Construction and site limitations will also be considered at the seminar, together with value engineering best practice.

Bernard Turgoose, technical service manager at Senior and CPD presenter, said: “This seminar is a great opportunity for architects and specifiers to enhance their personal proficiency and keep up to date with industry and technical developments.”

The RIBA-approved session will tour the UK as part of the RIBA CPD providers Roadshows, with those who attend earning double CPD points. For more information about Senior’s CPD seminars, including on how to book in-house CPD seminars, visit our Continuing Professional Development page.
