Ellesmere Port Sport and Leisure Village

Fenestration products from Doncaster based Senior Architectural Systems, have been installed at a prestigious regeneration project for Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The new £15 million Ellesmere Port Sport and Leisure Village which was partly funded by Sport England was officially opened by Prince Edward in May 2015 and boasts a 25m swimming pool, learner pool, eight-court sports hall with 1,400 retractable seats, dance and exercise studios, spin zone, gymnasium, changing rooms for both wet and dry, a café and a community room.

Designed by Ellis Williams Architects, this flagship leisure facility features Senior Architectural Systems’ SMR800 powder coated curtain walling and robust SD automatic sliding entrance doors, fabricated and installed by Aire Valley Architectural Aluminium Ltd. in Keighley.

Aire Valley also provided powder coated fixed blade aluminium louvres with fly mesh backing and brackets for Brise Soleil sun shading installed to the curtain walling. The end result is a striking landmark 6000 m2 state-of-the-art sports facility.

Built by Wates Construction on the site of an old school on Stanney Lane, Ellesmere Port Sport and Leisure Village was the 100th project to be procured through the North West Construction Hub (NWCH) framework.

It is hoped that the new facility will become a focal hub for the town’s communities as well as offering high-class facilities and the opportunity to try out new sports at an affordable price.
