Senior becomes the new face of Landmark Building

Situated on one of the major thoroughfares through central Portsmouth, Arabella Court Apartments on London road is one of the few new developments in the town.

The challenge for PLC architects was to come up with a design which would turn the site of a derelict commercial building into a landmark building which would provide high quality rental accommodation, complement nearby residential amenities and gain the support of local residents.

Arabella CourtThe result is a four story building consisting of 38 exceptional one and two bedroom apartments, including luxury penthouses on the fourth floor with superb views over the Solent.

Senior Architectural Systems’ thermally efficient SCW+ curtain wall was chosen for this creative development to combine traditional exteriors with 21st century facades, and provide high quality modern living accommodation.

Fabricated and installed by Glass and General Maintenance, one of the benefits of using Senior’s SCW+ curtain wall is that the system is capable of being fabricated into ladders offsite for quick assembly on site.  This both reduces onsite time and ensures consistent quality.

In fact, the £3Million development was completed by H H Drew Construction in just 60 weeks.

The new development is now fully occupied and with its carefully designed layout including communal gardens is helping to transform the locality.
