Last Friday saw Senior’s sales director James Keeling-Heane heading back to school with son William. It was all part of a construction taster day for 20 Year One pupils organised by Westwoodside C of E Primary school in Doncaster at North Lindsay College in Scunthorpe.

Offering a range of construction courses and apprenticeships for school leavers, North Lindsay College are in the process of upgrading their student facilities with a £12.2 million project to rebuild and refurbish large parts of the campus.

Fenestration worth around £190,000 is being supplied by Senior, so James seemed the obvious parent to be asked to accompany the school visit. Fabricator Allied Glazing in Sheffield are currently installing SCW and SMR 900 curtain walling with SPW 600 insert vents for main contractor Interserve, and James was keen to take the opportunity to see how the project was progressing.

The day was a great success with the children learning all about the tools and techniques of bricklaying. The best bit was having a go at building a wall themselves and the results were pretty impressive. Looks like there could be some construction professionals in the making.

As for the building work at North Lindsay College, James was given a quick tour to see how Senior’s products are bringing the refurbishment project to life. All agreed that they can’t wait to move into the new buildings.
