Senior Glass Systems is sponsoring one of the ducks in the £5K Duck Race organised by Yorkshire Coast Radio, in a bid to win a £5,000 marketing campaign for Saint Catherine’s Hospice. The Scarborough based glazing company, which produces high quality insulated glazed units for the fenestration markets, is one of 100 local businesses hoping to win free airtime on the region’s popular radio station.

Over the next couple of weeks listeners to Yorkshire Coast Radio can call in to win a duck, by guessing how many quacks there are in a sequence.

The ducks are then entered into the race which takes place at Dalby Forest on Sunday 17th August, when the 100 ducks will take to the water in an exciting dash along the river to the finish. The duck that crosses the line first will win their owner a whopping £5,000 cash, whilst the sponsor of the winning duck will win an airtime campaign to the value of £5,000.

If Senior Glass has the winning duck, the company has decided to donate the £5,000 marketing campaign to Saint Catherine’s Hospice in Scarborough, which cares for people with life limiting or life threatening conditions and their families.

Michelle Damms, Operations Director at Senior Glass Systems said “Saint Catherine’s Hospice is a charity close to our hearts, having cared for one of our former employees. We are really hoping that we have sponsored the winning duck, so that we can help this worthy charity to promote their much needed hospice facilities and services on air.”

The event is a great family day out and if last year is anything to go by the duck race will be watched by hundreds of spectators. If you’re going along make sure you cheer on the Senior Glass duck in the Number 3 yellow jersey, appropriately named “Glassy”!

"Go Glassy!”
